In 1979, Terry Mason, the owner of Avalon Microwave, established Avalon Electronics Ltd, a design and manufacturing company of high performance data recorders for laboratory, mobile and platform applications.
The company was the first recorder manufacturer to recognise the benefits of disk recording and its AE7000 wideband analogue and telecom recorders have been in operation since 1999.
Avalon Electronics Ltd specialises in the Design and Manufacture of data recorders for SIGINT (Signal Intelligence) and telemetry applications and holds over four decades of experience, offering its service to some of the world’s leading businesses within military and civilian agencies. The products are installed within ships, submarines, aircraft, vehicles and static locations at high altitudes around the world. These are sold either directly to Government organisations or through major defence contractors who purchase on behalf of the Government.

In 2018, Terry Mason decided to pass the company over to the engineers as succession planning, retaining a small shareholding. This allowed him to develop his specialist projects, and Avalon Microwave was established to provide Electronic Security Solutions for security issues which have been identified and not satisfactorily addressed to date.
Today it appears that most providers believe that Security Systems can be managed by software solutions, however, we are all aware that software can be compromised. Sadly there are very few hardware engineers and designers still developing, this is the specialisation that Avalon Microwave is fortunate to have as a resource, with a team that has worked together for over 30 years.
